Don't worry like many others I have fallen into the trap of Brrreeeport too. But I still think its the worst idea from someone who has nothing better to do.

There I said it.

Scobleizer, go and do something productive man. Don't waste your time on stupid stuff. You are worse than Matt Cutts.

Why the Cartoon Portraying Muhammed Is Wrong?

I posted the following comment on Faeriebell's blog where an intense discussion about a Danish cartoon portraying the Prophet PBUH is on going.

My comment was in response to the comments by Spikes and Gary on Faeriebell's post about why the cartoon portraying Muhammed as a terrorist is wrong:

Spikes,
It's the ignorant people like you who fail to research and understand what Islam stands for.

True, there are a few bad apples in every religion (like Eric Robert Rudolph) but that doesn't make the entire religion and it's followers bad.

Islam says that killing a soul is like killing the whole humanity.

Prophet Muhammed (PBUH) showed Muslims how they should live with peace. People who are terrorizing the world are using Islam's name in the most heinous way.

Garry, unlike Christianity, Islam forbids the depiction of the Prophet. Non-Muslims have therefore no right to depict something which is expressly forbidden in Islam.

Calling for "the death" of the Danish cartoonists isn't Islamic either. Islam is a peaceful religion with only one message: peace. People who seem to not get this fundamental message, whether Muslim or not, don't really get the essence of Islam.

Let me draw your attention to a few historical events.

Before Islam spread in the world, a woman used to throw trash on the Prophet (PBUH) every day as he used to walk by her window. Every time she will throw trash, the Prophet will look up, give a smile and walk on without saying a word. One day the Prophet noticed that no one threw trash on him. Worried what might have happened to the woman, he went to her door and found her very sick. He took care of her, cleaned her house and fed her for several days, until she got better. She did convert to Islam later due to the behavior shown by the Prophet PBUH.

In a Gazwah (a war in which Prophet PBUH) participated, a pagan woman martyred Prophet's beloved uncle and chewed on his body parts. After Prophet PBUH came into power, the woman was brought in front of him for sentencing. Prophet Muhammed (PBUH) forgave the woman and let her go.

Muslims all around the world are supposed to follow the excellent examples of forgiveness set forth not only by Prophet PBUH, but by Jesus, Ibraham, Isaac, Moses and the prophets before him.

In addition, Muslims are forbidden to attack first. A better Muslim, according to Islam, is the one who forgives, not the one who opts for revenge.

Sadly, some extremists bring a bad name to Islam. Islam is all about forgiveness and peace, and there is no other truth about Islam.

Pervez Musharraf - Just what Pakistan needs

President Musharraf is my favorite Pakistani leader so far. He introduced the world to the concept of enlightened moderation.

From enlightened moderation:

The world has become an extremely dangerous place. The devastating power of plastic explosives, combined with high-tech remote-controlled devices, as well as a proliferation of suicide bombers, has created a lethal force that is all but impossible to counter. The unfortunate reality is that both the perpetrators of these crimes and most of the people who suffer from them are Muslims. This has caused many non-Muslims to believe wrongly that Islam is a religion of intolerance, militancy and terrorism. It has led increasing numbers of people to link Islam to fundamentalism; fundamentalism to extremism, and extremism to terrorism. Muslims can protest however vigorously they like against this kind of labeling, but the reality is that such arguments are not likely to prevail in the battle for minds. To make things even more difficult, Muslims are probably the poorest, most uneducated, most powerless and most disunited people in the world.

The stark challenge that faces anyone with compassion for the common heritage of mankind is determining what legacy we will leave for future generations. The special challenge that confronts Muslims is to drag ourselves out of the pit we find ourselves in, to raise ourselves up by individual achievement and collective socioeconomic emancipation. Something has to be done quickly to stop the carnage in the world and to stem the downward slide of Muslims.

My idea for untangling this knot is Enlightened Moderation, which I think is a win for all -- for both the Muslim and non-Muslim worlds. It is a two-pronged strategy. The first part is for the Muslim world to shun militancy and extremism and adopt the path of socioeconomic uplift. The second is for the West, and the United States in particular, to seek to resolve all political disputes with justice and to aid in the socioeconomic betterment of the deprived Muslim world.

We need to understand that the root cause of extremism and militancy lies in political injustice, denial and deprivation. Political injustice to a nation or a people, when combined with stark poverty and illiteracy, makes for an explosive mix. It produces an acute sense of hopelessness and powerlessness. A nation suffering from these lethal ills is easily available for the propagation of militancy and the perpetration of extremist, terrorist acts. It is cannon fodder in a war of terrorism.

India Asks Google to Make Azad Kashmir Part of India

Per this news article, India is asking Google to put all of Kashmir within its boundaries.

Pakistan Government should take immediate action to prevent Google from making Azad Kashmir part of India.

The political map of the subcontinent in Google Earth shows the region that India calls Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, or PoK, and Pakistan calls it 'Azad (free) Kashmir', as being a part of Pakistani territory.

No printed matter in India can be distributed if it contains a map of the country that does not conform to the official one that shows Jammu and Kashmir as an integral part of India.

I do not agree with the Indian Government which is acting quite stupidly in this case. Azad Kashmir is free Kashmir and should not be part of India's map.

Sony rootkit: In case you had missed the "online riots" against Sony when SysInternals engineer reported about Sony rootkit, here is a brief update for you. New copyright protection CDs by Sony Music with DRM (Digital Rights Management) software installs XCP rootkit to prevent unauthorized copying of images. On Amazon.com many people called for a Sony boycott, and last time I checked there was even a petition online regarding this with about 250 signatures. More on Sony XCP rootkit.

Anyways, the latest in the case of Sony rootkit is that there are now new false reports about some Sony digital cameras (Sony Cybershot DSCP515) also doing the same stuff, i.e. installing a rootkit. These reports seem to be false and have no merit.

Things just get interesting from here on. Sony Music provided a software to uninstall the rootkit (reportedly the process involves: registering, downloading, waiting for a call from Sony, downloading again, finished uninstalling). If you uninstall the Sony rootkit using the tools provided, you will not be able to play the CD either.

Now Microsoft has come as a hero to consumers rescue. News is that Microsoft has announced that their malicious software detection software will be finding and destroying Sony's rootkit. More about Sony rootkit and Microsoft from Faeriebell's blog.

Paris Riots: Quiet but persistant Paris riots have had people worried all over the world. Earlier, Paris riots prompt Mosque attacks. What started the Paris riots?
In case you are wondering what started the Paris riots, here is an excerpt from Wikipedia

On Thursday 27 October 2005, a group of 10 high school teenagers were playing football in the Paris suburb of Clichy-sous-Bois. The teenagers allegedly ran and hid when police officers arrived to conduct ID-checks.

Three of the teenagers, thinking they were being chased by the police, climbed a wall to hide in a power substation [5] [6]. "Bouna Traore, a 15-year-old of Malian background, and Zyed Benna, a 17-year-old of Tunisian origin" [7] (photo) were electrocuted by a transformer in the electrical relay substation. Muhttin Altun, 17, (whose parents, Haseyin and Aïcha, are Turkish Kurds) was injured and hospitalized. A friend of the three stated, Clichy-sous-Bois "has three principal communities, the Arabs, the Turks and the Blacks. The three victims represented each one a community". [8] [9]

The New York Times reports, citing two police investigations, that the incident began at 17:20 on Thursday, 27 October 2005 in Clichy-sous-Bois when police were called to a construction site there to investigate a possible break in. Six youths were detained by 17:50. During questioning at the police station in Livry-Gargan at 18:12, blackouts occurred at the station and in nearby areas. These were caused, police say, by the electrocution of the two boys and the injury of the third. [10]

"According to statements by Mr. Altun, who remains hospitalized with injuries, a group of 10 or so friends had been playing football on a nearby field and were returning home when they saw the police patrol. They all fled in different directions to avoid the lengthy questioning that youths in the housing projects say they often face from the police. They say they are required to present identity papers and can be held as long as four hours at the police station, and sometimes their parents must come before the police will release them." [11]

There is controversy over whether or not the teens were actually chased. The local prosecutor, François Molins, has said they believed so, but the police were actually after other suspects attempting to avoid an identity check [12]. Molins and Interior Minister Nicolas Sarkozy maintain that the dead teenagers had not been "physically pursued" by the police. This is disputed by some: The Australian reports that "Despite denials by police officials and Sarkozy and de Villepin, friends of the boys said they were being pursued by police after a false accusation of burglary and that they 'feared interrogation'" [13]. There were initial Police accusations that the boys were thieves, which were withdrawn. Inconsistent statements by police and Interior Minister Nicolas Sarkozy have fueled public mistrust of the authorities since the riots began.

This event ignited pre-existing tensions. Protesters told The Associated Press the unrest was an expression of frustration with high unemployment and police harassment in the areas. "People are joining together to say we've had enough," said one protester. "We live in ghettos. Everyone lives in fear." [14][15] The rioters' suburbs are also home to a large North African immigrant population, allegedly adding ethnic and religious tensions which some right-wing commentators believe contribute further to such frustrations.

At least two unnamed internet bloggers have been accused of possibly inciting the violence and encouraging the French youth to rise up against the government and riot. French Prime Minister Dominique de Villepin was cited by CNN as stating that "some of the violence had been organized through Internet blogs that have now been shut down."

Nicolas Sarkozy's comment on a television programme, "clean them out with a Kärcher (pressurized water)", generated intense controversy and it has been suggest that it aggravated the violence in the early days of the riots. Before the riots, Sarkozy also called the teenagers living in house-projects "racaille", sometimes translated as "scum", which has been condemned by many French politicians.

So Dawn Yang has been creating a lot of buzz these day. The reason seems to be mostly her denial of having multiple plastic surgeries. Dawn Yang is currently one of the highest search blogs on Technorati.

Faeriebell also wonders on her post about Dawn Yang and plastic surgery that why is Dawn Yang denying her plastic surgeries? Faeriebell writes

Now I have viewed a number of before and after pics of Dawn Yang on Agagooga's blog, with photos from all the way back to 1997 to present today. The evidence leads me to suspect that she has had multiple cosmetic surgery procedures. The changes are noticable to anyone who is at all familar with the tell tale signs of plastic surgery. Delta Airlines is reporting a quarterly net loss of 1.1 billion dollars. A major reason according to the press release seems to be the rising fuel costs.
